about

I was always eager to do something more theatrical or operatic, for the third album. While an earlier attempt fell apart, I finally got inspiration in 2014, when I not only got married and had a child but that child was in danger of instant apprehension from Children’s Aid, just for me being a first time father with a disabled wife. While I’m very glad to say that it ultimately worked out, the drama that ensued provided ample material for this album, even if it pulled some punches that it probably shouldn’t have.

After “Casual Fridays” proved that it was fairly easy to record and produce songs on my iPhone, this became the first full album that I made on iOS GarageBand, which has been my main toolkit ever since. As a result of many years of writing and prep time, this album also boasts the shortest production time of any Snafu LP, of merely weeks rather than months. It is also the first Snafu album to not have a cover of an existing song; a version of “Behind Blue Eyes” had been considered but was deemed unnecessary and inappropriate thematically.

about

Sonic Snafu Hamilton, Ontario

I play mainly progressive/alternative music, with very thoughtful themes. My music tends to be very emotional and cinematic, with experimental textures. My shows have been busking events with other local musicians like The Sadie Project.
